It was my upmost pleasure to briefly host you! Your journey along the MST has been so inspirational for me - and others - to follow through your writings. I am pleased to read that your trek has led you to a place of increased calm, peace, and clarity. I hope you know that you have left an indelible mark along the way.
Jennifer, thank you so much for your beautiful note. Certainly these hikes are a good time for reflection and, yes, finding a degree of serenity. I am still a novice in these pursuits but am working on it. I very much enjoyed my stay with you and hope your cabin made it through the hurricane in one piece. Perhaps it washed away your neighbor's yard?
Greetings from the Camino de Santiago, Jonathan! You have inspired me to walk it, and here I am, walking 500 miles. I am often thinking of you with gratitude and admiration.
This segment resonates deeply with me, Jon. Dealing with painful events of the past to live at peace in the present is a daily exercise for me. Your pilgrimage story is very helpful. I am grateful!
You certainly are achieving your serenity through your MST hikes. Reading your journal reinforces that your transformation is real. Keep charging dear BIL aka Camino Beast. ❤️ Marlene
I really resonate with your insights here. I haven't done thru hikes nearly as long as yours, but think that with the right mindset every trip can be a pilgrimage.
Love the angle you took with this one... a look back at where you've been and where you're going, both on the MST trail and also in life. Hopefully you can get free of the Blueridge Parkway soon! Not sure what the life metaphor equivalent of that would be, but I'm sure it's relevant, lol!
