Jonathan, I'm inspired by the reboot of your life after your medical challenge. Your journey is, for me, a metaphor of resilience and positivism as we move along this path to the other side of the valley. I, too, have rebooted with a launch into Italy and all it has to offer, including good friends, good food, and an amazing zest for life. I wish the best for both of us as we continue to create and enjoy and celebrate the wonders surrounding us.
Thank you, Glen, for your comments. I love the fact you have moved to Italy and am always studying/perusing your pictures on FaceBook. Damn! Somehow I took a wrong turn! Do keep inspiring those of us who follow along on your journey!
Wow, I hate to hear that Jonathan. It sounds like you are going above and beyond to set yourself up for success, though. I'll share one of my favorite quotes on adversity, from Marcus Aurelius-
"The impediment to action advances action; what stands in the way becomes the way."
All of these things, from health to hurricanes, are out of our control. But we remain fully in control of our own attitudes and choices. What happens is not important. Navigating it as a good and honorable person, as I'm sure you are, is all important!
Well thought out, proactively addressed, and written about. Thanks for sharing. You may enjoy reading Rick Steve’s bout with discovering prostate cancer this year, his surgery and recovery. Also a well shared read. Both of you are thoughtful, traveling spirits, sharing your discoveries.
Last ten min only about prostate. I read his blogs all along the diagnosis and treatment but sorry, I’ve forgotten where!! I dont do X . (Too evil a site, my bias)
Thanks, Keeka, for your thoughtful comments. I did not follow Rick Steve previously so your reference is appreciated. Though, I am also not a subscriber to X, hopefully, I'll be able to track Rick's post-surgery journey. Very interesting!
It seems that you are remaining positive and being proactive regarding your upcoming challenges. I wish you the best in the battle ahead. I'm glad to hear that you are still planning to complete your hike. Hopefully, the MST will re-open soon.
Thanks, Mike, for writing. I think the cure is out there on the trail. Hopefully, it will open soon and I'll be back on my pilgrimage. (Wouldn't finding such a cure behind a pine or in a shallow gulley be nice--that and a bucket of gold...)
got cut off. Sorry to hear the news and rooting for you to do just as you say— consider your positive actions on the trails the emblem of your health journey! Been enjoying following you and look forward to seeing you deal with this setback — doing it like Jonathan!!!! lots of love! Elaine

Thanks, Elaine! Your comments are always appreciated. Not sure "doing it like Jonathan" is a good thing. In my family, that debate is ongoing!
So many will be silently cheering you on! ❤️
Thanks, Lavonne. I very much appreciate you comment and, of course, your friendship. Thank you for hanging in there with me.
