Hey everyone, some people are confused about what I’m doing — or even where I currently am — so I thought I’d stop, take a moment and fill you in.
In the Fall of 2022, I walked the Camino de Santiago, a 500-mile pilgrimage across Spain and wrote a daily journal, which I posted on Facebook. Then, in March of 2023, I began hiking the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, a 1,200 mile journey across North Carolina, also posting my stories to Facebook.
Even before that, I had started writing short stories years ago and posting them on an old Wordpress blog. Poetry, too, re-entered my life after a brief love affair in college and a decades-long hiatus.
I’ve yearned for a place to share these stories and various writing pieces where they can be enjoyed by those not on Facebook and longer than allowed by a fleeting Facebook post with questionable algorithms.
Enter Substack.
I’m still figuring out exactly what my writing will look like, but, for now, I am revisiting old tales, going deeper with them, and sharing them anew. Expect to receive a hodge-podge of Camino adventures, Mountains-to-Sea exploits, random life stories, old growing up memories, and a random poem here and there.
It won’t always be linear, but life never really is. And if things ever feel confusing to you or you want to explore a single journey at a time, you can use the navigation menu on the Substack home screen to select the pieces you want to read.
Here’s to the adventure, in all its forms. And thank you for joining me along the way.
This is great and very exciting! Thank you!
